The 2 week UP-Cycle project was focused on finding and re-purposing industrial waste. How can you turn something with little to no value to something that has value? I realized that the slide pucks I use for down-hill longboarding are made out of HDPE (High Density Polyethelyne) which is also known as recyclable plastic #2. HDPE is a common plastic which is often used for packaging goods. I sourced some HDPE and began to explore different processes to break down, mold and process the plastic and eventually make my own slide-pucks.
