Thin Skin
For our sophomore studio, Preliminary Design, our class was challenged to build a cardboard chair that can hold our own weight with limited material and only using joiners and tape. However my personal goal was to use no tape for any structural part, and only using joints. After studying the material's properties, structural strength, and going through iterations of brainstorming and sketch models, I was able to come up with Thin Skin. Thin Skin only has 4 components and takes less than 5 minutes to assemble.
