This packaging project came to life in my freshman visual literacy class. When I was assigned to pick a local restaurant to redesign their packaging for take-out, I knew COBO would be a perfect choice. Considering COBO is one of my favorite places to eat in Boone and the fact that sushi is not like any other food you can just put in a box, I knew there was an issue to be addressed. Sushi is typically served into delicate seaweed rolls that are more enjoyable when they're intact and even more enjoyable when combined with wasabi, ginger and soy sauce.
To enhance the full take out experience I took the liberty to design my own chopsticks that integrate and function with the take-out package. These are not any ordinary chopsticks but a hybrid between a fork and normal chopsticks. When designing the "forksticks" I wanted to include the average non-chopstick user with the proficient.
